David T. Lougee

President, Gannett Broadcasting

Dave Lougee was named president of the Broadcasting Division for Gannett Co., Inc. in July, 2007. The company operates 23 television stations in the U.S, along with Captivate. Each of the TV stations offer locally oriented internet sites that offer news, entertainment and advertising content in both text and video formats. Captivate, a broadcast subsidiary delivers news and advertising through video screens located in office towers and selected hotel elevators in the U.S. and Canada.

Lougee serves as Chairman of the Television Bureau of Advertising (TVB). He is on the Board of Directors for Mobile Content Venture (MCV) a mobile television joint venture involving FOX, NBC, ION and the Pearl 9 television group and is a founding member of the OMVC (Open Mobile Video Coalition). Lougee is also a member of the NBC Affiliate Board.

Prior to returning to Gannett, Lougee served as executive vice president/media operations for Belo, where he was in charge of the company’s 19 TV stations and four cable news operations outside of Dallas. In 2005, he was named a senior vice president of Belo. He joined Belo in 1998 as news director at KING-TV in Seattle/Tacoma, and became president and general manager of Belo’s TV and cable operations in Seattle/Tacoma in 2000. From 1996 to 1998, Lougee was vice president/news at WRC-TV, the NBC owned and operated station in Washington DC.

From 1990 to 1996, Lougee was vice president/news director at KUSA-TV in Denver, a Gannett station. He began his broadcasting career at KMGH-TV in Denver in 1981, and worked at KCNC-TV in Denver from 1982-1990.

Lougee is a graduate of the University of Colorado and attended the Stanford Executive Program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 2004.

Dave and his wife Danni D. Lougee (DOB: October 18, 1960) live in Great Falls, Virginia, with their son Nash.  Looks like Danni had some legal trouble in an old estate matter.
Nash, their son, attends Langley High in McLean, VA.  Here’s his Facebook page.  He’s also apparently an accomplished tennis player.

Looks like their place is worth about $1.5 million and is complete with pool and basketball court.   Their
previous address, in Dallas’ Highland Park neighborhood was also worth about $1.5 million.
